TOKYO, JAPAN – March 26, 2025 – Linktivity Inc. (CEO: Seiryuu Kou, hereinafter "Linktivity," /http://www.linktivity.co.jp), a group company of VELTRA Corporation, and Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (TSE: 9023, President: Akiyoshi Yamamura, hereinafter "Tokyo Metro") today announced the launch of the "Tokyo City Pass" (hereinafter "the Product"), a tourist ticket for inbound travelers that condenses the appealing tourist facilities and experiences unique to Tokyo. This launch aims to accelerate "City Tourism" for international visitors.

About the "Tokyo City Pass"

The "Tokyo City Pass" is a tourism product that includes:

  1. A selection of major Tokyo sightseeing spots such as Tokyo Skytree®, Tokyo Tower, and teamLab Planets TOKYO DMM.com (selection system).
  2. Access to unique Tokyo local experiences that inbound tourists will appreciate, such as offering incense at Senso-ji Temple and visiting a traditional public bath (all spots can be used).
  3. A "Tokyo Subway Ticket" allowing unlimited rides on all Tokyo Metro lines.

This pass offers significant value. For example, if a customer uses a Tokyo Skytree® day ticket on a holiday, the individual cost would be ¥3,900, including the Tokyo Skytree Tembo Deck admission fee of ¥2,300 (holiday price) and a subway ticket of ¥800. With the "Tokyo City Pass," the remaining ¥800 allows access to "周遊スポット" (touring spots) worth ¥4,500, representing an 80% discount.

Background and Purpose

While many major cities worldwide offer City Passes that allow convenient and cost-effective access to tourist facilities, Tokyo has lacked a representative product until now. The "Tokyo City Pass" is a result of a joint development initiated based on a capital and business alliance agreement concluded between Tokyo Metro and Linktivity in March 2024, with the cooperation of various tourist facilities. Following the launch, the pass will be sold through Linktivity's global sales network of over 400 Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) and the Chinese super app "WeChat". The pass is available not only for inbound tourists but also for Japanese travelers, making it ideal for first-time visitors to Tokyo.

Tourists visiting Tokyo often face complexities in various stages, including information gathering, booking, purchasing, and transportation, which can prevent them from fully enjoying the appealing tourist facilities and experiences Tokyo offers. The "Tokyo City Pass" was planned as a groundbreaking tourist ticket for Tokyo that resolves these issues and allows travelers to effortlessly enjoy the city's diverse attractions.

Future Commitment

Tokyo Metro and Linktivity are committed to contributing to the sustainable development of the Tokyo metropolitan area by providing highly convenient planned tickets, transportation services, and attractive "City Tourism" offerings to the anticipated increase in inbound tourists.
